Over my last two companies and 10 years in business I have more often regretted hiring misaligned capable people over aligned less capable.

I’ve noticed that those who align but lack the capabilities, will use their determination, grit to overcome their lack of qualifications/experience/skill.

Plus, wouldn’t you want someone around who gets what you are trying to do and asks questions like “wouldn’t it be cool if?” Or “maybe if we did X rather than Y we could really blow up!” rather than a brilliant person who always ask “what else do you need?” Just so they can move on with their day.

You only get one life, do cool shit with cool people.
