Collectors are willing to pay 3$ to mint your art but you only get 1$ from it I’ve “sold” more than 1k pieces on Zora. People spent 3000$ but i didnt even earn half of it.. Isnt the blockchain supposed to get rid of the middle man..?

That's why i stopped minting on Zora, i tried it for the first time last year, it was funny, made a couple community drops, amazing artists and a lot of nice collectors, but it's not it imo 22 $degen

Yeah I feel the same... I would understand a 5/10 cent fee for the marketplace or whatever but taking more than half is too much...

Hard to let go of the middleman when the alternative is building, deploying and maintaining your own solution. The fees are just the cost of business to provide that service to us.

That's always struck me as weird. Base fees are negligible, so why the $2.8 fee for a "free" mint? To be honest, I've been feeling guilty calling them free lately. I'd go for "really cheap" open editions.

I dont consider gas and zora fees as a middle man. You can always list for more and get that amount you want! I think its fair for what zora offers tbh.

Zora is not the ideal platform to mint artworks. The philosophy of minting is different from the other“classic” platforms. You’re perfectly right but I don’t know if they’re willing to change that. Actually I found more interesting the Rodeoclub platform for “almost free mints”.

That's the way the marketplace works. It's our choice as artists to participate or not. I'm not famous enough to open a minting on my website yet. For now lol 69 $degen

Eliminating the middleman means we don't have platforms where we mint. But that the platform earns more than the artist is not fair: out of 3 dollars 2 to you and 1 to it!

I thought artists got 4/7 of the "free" mint. Not that it's very high of course

Mmmh I feel you. But I think this is the whole foundation of Zora tbh. They are keeping a lot of it I know, what I don’t know is: What are they doing with that money?🤔

Totally agree... Also they call it "free mint"... A free mint should cost just the gas, not 3$

Yes this 100% I don’t get Zora at all. It’s no different to Manifold + (marketplace) except that there are points to earn and a totally different chain What’s the solution?
