I've been feeding ChatGPT blog posts I made 20 years ago. It's so easy to forget life experience as you get older - I totally forgot this moment when I was the first person to take poor migrant laborers in Dubai's photos for the first time in 2 years.

Technology moves so fast and now smartphones are ubiquitous, but back in 2007 just the idea of these men working far away from their families as the bread-makers and being so poor that phone calls to their family were probably a rare luxury and a photograph of themselves as a memento or to send to their families back home was an even greater luxury.

Technology revolves around photos and videos for the most part.

This is a photo I took of Dubai Marina when it was being built. As a child this didn't exist and was sand. My brother and I would speed around in the empty marina and then over the course of a few years an insane amount of construction would occur fueled by migrant laborers.
