I have no idea who to send my work to. That's probably on me a lot more than it being an industry thing to be honest, I'm not really in the circles activity looking at where would be a good fit for my work but from a general writing perspective stance I know that if you don't have an agent you can't submit and getting an agent is near enough impossible. Self publishing route is easy to get work out there, but hard work to get it seen. There's a lot if time that needs to go into promoting (plus a lot of money too). I think poetry probably has a smaller readership than other forms of creative writing, so it can be hard to find an audience for your content, especially if it's personal to you but not really generally relatable to others.

Agents can be helpful, but we should be able to get published without. Although it is an agent's job to find a publication fit. Why is it so hard to get an agent?
