Why put your poetry onchain? Or why collect onchain?

I like the permanence of creating on-chain, plus the possibility for monetization. It's not the best medium for consumption of written work, though.

when I created my music/poetry magazine, this was my biggest challenge, cause I found uploading a simple pdf onchain wouldn’t do justice to the love I put in it. So I went for a flip book NFT…silly me…that was a nightmare 

If I hadn’t had the help from a coder friend, I wouldn’t had made it. Now I can do it on my own, but it’s not an easy party and I feel like an PhD engineer every time I mint a vol of the magazine 🤣🤣🤣

So I really see what you mean and I am dreaming of a tool that connects it more with the ppl 

I’m tired of the anxiety I get when I feel like no one reads me and only like my things for tips 🤣

Or buy outright, if the work is an NFT, or has a pay-wall, or is behind some kind of subscription, rather than a creator coin like the zora stuff. I think people support authors more than collect and consume, people do read it and buy stuff they like but the experience of consuming the written work is... not great.

A dedicated device, like a kindle with an e ink screen I can load stuff onto, or buy stuff from - get an embedded wallet in there - and that would make the actual reading of the stuff so much better. 

Provenance plays a small part and I'd actually like to start experimenting with limited edition releases of some of my work to see if that might generate more interest and income.

Interesting perspective. Because putting something onchain and seeing it as a possibility for monetization, kind of assumes that people collect and consume.
But we sort of see what you mean. What would make it a better medium for consumption of written work?
