Bring Her Back we spend the night in separate beds, a mirror image of each other close enough to reach out And touch palms but we don't. I lay awake for a long time Listening for an answer that doesn't come An explanation for all of this. I think about the times she used to wedge her feet between my legs Too cold to leave them abandoned Alone at the bottom of the bed. Now her sobs wake me, Night after night. They echo along the corridor In the empty rooms Once filled with laughter Now filled with holes Punched into the wall Absence And nothingness And the dirty remains Of a fixed moment in time No one can change. Time heals all wounds, they say They write that in help sheets that get handed around And folded into handbags And wedged into the gaps between bus seats and the wall The dark corners I try to hide myself in too But it never helps Not everyone has enough time Not all wounds can be healed. When nothing can ever bring her back.

I've got quite a lot on my mind at the moment. Quite a lot of stuff to go through. Quite a lot of time in my own head to go through it as well. Which gives me time to write it down. This is a poem called Bring Her Back. It can be collected as a 1/1 by bidding on the first cast. If it doesn't sell, I'll drop it on Zora as a content coin for another chance to collect it. In hope you like it. My creator coin is out and collectible on Zora, check my profile for a link, from which you'll see poems I've published this year on my home page. I've also got stuff on paragraph if you want to check me out there. I'm a self published author of novels, short stories, screenplays, radio plays, stage plays, and poetry across a variety of different genres but usually focussing on romance, and dark humour, sometimes at the same time. I've been writing as a profession for 13 years now, and writing as a hobby for over 30. Enjoy!

Holy Christ @brixbounty thank you for that insane bid. Did you really mean to bid 30 or was that a fat finger maybe?!
