Been spending time solo with my eldest daughter, and it's absolutely fantastic. What a world of difference between how she behaves and how her younger brother behaves, and how she behaves alone, without him. I was actually able to go out for dinner with friends last night, which is the first time in what feels like forever I actually felt like I was enjoying myself without constantly checking on the kids every two seconds, with my nerves frazzled, wondering if they were doing something wrong, or intervening when they were. I'd forgotten what it's like to live without stress. Which in itself is a crazy thing to say.
