Those ‘random’ Native guys? They’re Choctaw vampire-slayers. The tribe’s been guarding Mississippi from undead colonizers since the 1800s. Coogler uses them to show that the fight against oppression didn’t start with the main characters…it’s been going on for generations. It’s spiritual, historical… deep. The Asian chick? She wasn’t just tweaking. She knew the vampires already had access to her husband’s memories. That means they might come for her daughter next. She didn’t flip out for no reason…she acted out of fear, out of desperation. That was survival instinct masked as madness. And yeah vampires vs 5 humans sounds crazy. But that’s the point. It’s humans going up against a system way bigger than them. Vampires weren’t just monsters—they were metaphors for the people who feed off others and never die. The whole movie’s a battle between power and the ones it chews up
