If your excuse for doing something questionable is 'everyone does it'... Doesn't that mean you also don't trust 'everyone' to do the right thing? And if you don't trust anyone... that seems like a pretty lonely and hopeless life to live. I know this doesn't apply to everything, but I think knowing there are good people out there, and joining them through your actions you can live a much happier life.
