If all those metrics were inverted and Trump claimed it was all him and none of Biden's efforts, would you agree? The truth is it's a bit more muddy than we would like to admit Not excusing Trump's blatant lies btw

All of these metrics were way better and trending fine until he decided to implement an economically illiterate policy.

From what little macro I know, some of the trade imbalances with China would have caused global reordering under any other US presidency. The trend was not fine China continues to have "developing nation" trade agreements w the world and abusing it to gain more power We just have an accelerated problem under Trump

The trade imbalances are irrelevant as long as they exclude digital services which is our most dominant industry. We export bits and bytes and import raw materials and hard goods. Unfortunately digital services are included in the trade deficit calculation. Our country is in debt because of war; not trade. We could have restored critical industries without hurting the rest of the country.
