It's not hard to be intellectually honest and negative. Negativity also performs better than optimism on social media. Much harder to be intellectually honest and optimistic with bias for action, willingness to fail, learn, ability to find the appropriate amount of signal in all feedback and then discard remaining noise, and most importantly, not quitting.

What you're describing is what I call 'active optimism'. It's what I'm personally striving for in all areas of my life. I find it much harder to do on social media. Where I've successfully built it is w my partner and irl friends. I explore ideas and have them add to it referencing classics or current resources that expand on the interesting ideas rather than dissect it immediately. The goal is not to be right or wrong, but rather, explore options w ppl willing to add to it.
