Also, I rarely give relationship advice but if you bring your girl to NYC of all places and bring her to the cheapest hotel, and you don't spend money taking her out and doing fun stuff, while she watches all the other girlies at Farcon doing fun stuff, I imagine you won't have a girlfriend for very long.

@monteluna is mostly right but if you’re willing to rough it, it’s possible. I would not skimp on accom though because if you stay in the wrong area or wrong hotel it can ruin your week.

Idk how to explain to him there is no deal or hotel hack in NYC. The hotels run a cartel there and literally wrote regulations to kick out airbnb. It is the most regulated worst place in possibly America or the world to try and hack a hotel.

I once stayed 2 weeks in a friend‘s place for 90 USDC huge loft probably 100sqm in Brooklyn. I have hacked staying in NY before and I‘ll do it again if necessary

You may be able to find something decent on couchsurfing.com, as Airbnb had to change their policies in NY. Since couch surfing is technically share housing there may be some options that are in a legal grey area but are more akin to large loft space vibes 🤷
