True music fans haven’t taken to music NFT collecting in a way many of us hypothesized— the market is primarily driven by degen speculators who happen to also like music. Meanwhile I really thought it would bring many new people to the space the way NBA Top Shot did with sports fans

More and more my thinking is that projects need to take music out of music NFTs.
Anything that involves streaming or reproducing recordings can only reinforce the current music power structures, not disrupt. Unless there's significant overhaul of music copyright legislation.
