largely why we shouldn't optimise for video content; we're 5 years too late yt, tiktok, instagram know me better than my mum the algo knows what i want to see there's also abundance of content there likely no reason why i'd ditch them and go elsewhere what if fc mini apps became the new product hunt? what if fc wallet + feed becomes a trader's safe haven? idk i keep thinking a lot on how farcaster should uniquely 100x and spend $10mn over the next 12 months to go big or go home the team / founders are incredibly talented and there's opportunity cost maybe it's a decade long slow grind to wait for a canonical event that floods new valuable users but is hope a good strategy? i ask this to myself very often each time i say 'i hope xyz happens'

This is interesting to me because the next cast you made was a beautiful video about the noice airdrop and your views on the future. After watching that, I want to engage with your other casts now. When I see your text-based casts, I am now more likely to engage them because I will see you - your face, your voice, your background from that video. It's not that video is the destination here for me. I love text, but I want the text to mean something, and to do that, there is a value add to sharing yourself through video. Not as light at the end of the tunnel, but as a part of the tunnel, a part the journey. We are poorly optimized for video here, and that needs to change - because that is such an important part of the journey of discovering who you are. @marmo.eth

IMO farcaster should go big on miniapps. Code as content. Be the most open and programmable platform. Attract more builders building new experiences. No one else can ever compete, because web3 has User Generated Assets, which I can't imagine existing platforms embracing. Product hunt + app store + twitter?

Video > Photo > Text on attention aka mass market. I Like Text as it can Transport a lot more meaning - especially in back & forth discussions - but ignoring video (content/consumers) is ignoring what Most Social Media Users want (passive Entertainment).

I agree, I don’t think it’s the medium for it, even if I like to have them sometimes, and miniapps are a much better angle to go after to create new experiences. I live in HK and I use them daily across Alipay or WeChat, they are the reason I open their app. Now for the canonical event, isn’t the new @coinbase wallet coming out of beta something that could be that?

you're spot on. think of the masses as one organism. Now we know what the organism likes thanks to social media Now realise how social media didn't incentivise content. One airdrop is all it takes to convince any newcomer to the xyz space to instantly realise "FCK social media they never gave me one cent in 20 years"
