im becoming more and more aware of the unconscious egoic drive that guides my creation of *things* (mainly software products and content) i have an enormous desire to be seen and acknowledged. for the world to recognize my effort. shouting into the void: “look at me! this is what ive done in pursuit of success” and the consequence of that is that the products i create are an expression of that desire. i build them *from there*, so that the world can acknowledge me i create them with me at the center. so that the world can see that i know how to do things. that grows my ego and helps me feel good but it is a disguise and im tired of that disguise tbh the other side of that coin is flipping it, and putting you, as the user, at the center your needs your desires your achievements this creates a stronger bond. im not approaching the interaction with you from the “please see me” it is approaching it from a place of: “i see YOU” can you feel the difference? i can. at least in theory. it is not something that i can say i have implemented practically yet because my ego is stubborn AF but certainly becoming aware of it is a step on the right direction

That sounds like a inner and conflicted monologue of a tortured artist but i can totally see the passion in the work!

I guessed most end users might not implicitly realise the bond ties them with the dev who has to in theory, abstract them and their use cases in scale.

haha sure, they just want something that works and if the dev is at the center the plot went wrong. that’s what I’m actually referring to. they need to be at the center, and everything else needs to be abstracted away imo (for it to be a powerful and helpful product)
