Continuing to build my new OG static website with some throwback styling inspired by early Geocities days - it's even hosted on a service called Neocities!

All the pages are built-out and styled, now I just have to finish writing the content for them.

Home page with scrolling marquee text effect at the bottom.  I'm a dark mode girly, so of course it's styled with dark backgrounds!

It also connects to my digital garden - The Temple of Curious Devotion - where I'll be sharing my ongoing notes on a variety of topics.  I've got a LOT of notes to go through there and mark for publishing!

What's your user experience been like so far with Neocities? 

I've considered several free options to make a landing page/info hub and connect it with my work in Obsidian (including Neocities, mmm.page, carrd.co) but I haven't made a decision yet.

OK, thanks. I don't think Neocities is for me, then. Need a more drag-and-drop option for what I'm doing. 

Nice work on yours though! I'm seeing more and more people returning to old-school blogging and quirky personal websites, and I'm loving it.

It's super basic.  You get an html editor and can create new files and folders, but have to write everything from the ground up to build a page.  Very old school.  But for what it does - hosting a free static website - it  does it well enough.  Refreshing my rusty html and css has been fun.
