social media will consist purely of social consensus. this will be verifiable through the confirmation of individual TX on the blockchain. We will chase each other to the moon together if the consensus is right. the nice thing about it will be that this will not happen for free. This will entail certain expenses that will make it more difficult for evil and politically driven bots to participate. i see a bright future for social networks without data octopuses.
