Polymarket did not entertain fleeting metas and stayed focused on the end state — real user adoption

initial reaction to polymarket news:

1) does anyone know what kind of partnership this is? given JCal's congratulations tweet, i'm inclined to think it is a basic advertising partnership and not an integration partnership.

2) funny a16 says the ticker is $USDC... but US citizens are banned from using polymarket lol

The ticker is $USDC precisely because you don’t need to be in the USA :)

the right analogy for stablecoins is starlink for money

starlink brings billions online for the first time // stablecoins bring billions into a flat, egalitarian financial system + give billions first time access to USD 

the utility of both is not that apparent if you have

i agree with you on the value of stablecoins as starlink for money, but would be more apt to have $EURC as the ticker and not $USDC given people who use the underlying asset of USDC every day can't legally participate in the platform.

I’m still not sure how the partnership will work, but I suspect they’ll integrate the ability to place predictions directly through X. That would be really cool imo
