But we’re not a democracy. We’re a republic. Hillary Clinton and Al Gore won the popular vote. Non-logarithmic polling (on linear scales) is irrelevant because that’s not how power is obtained in the United States. We’ve been “winning” on linear scales and losing power consistently.

Ok but you don't have data on these positions being unpopular in swing states. This is a widespread "feeling" many have but it doesn't seem to hold up to the scrunity. For all that we know: - Harris performed worse in swing states since she shifted right - Bernie, with his progressive positions, did better in swing states than HRC did in Trump matchups
