For Ukrainians, borscht is not just food, it is a symbol of hospitality, love and care. Each family has its own recipe that is passed down from generation to generation. Borscht is prepared for family dinners, but it is also present on holiday tables, such as Christmas, Easter and other significant events. In addition, borscht has become an object of cultural pride for Ukraine. In 2022, UNESCO added Ukrainian borscht to the list of intangible cultural heritage. This event emphasized the importance of this dish as a symbol of Ukrainian culture. Thus, Ukrainian borscht is not only a tasty and nutritious dish, but also a real cultural tradition that symbolizes the richness of Ukrainian cuisine and people. In my family borscht is the most favorite soup dish. we often cook according to one family recipe, but each woman in our family has a different one πŸ˜€ In Krakow, we discovered a Ukrainian restaurant where they cook delicious borscht and serve it with slices of lard, pickles and black bread 🍞
