Random thought: Even if one day we learn how to upload our brains to “the cloud” - doing so wouldn’t actually extend our lives. Because an uploaded version of your brain will never be “you.” You can’t transfer your consciousness to it. So, it would only exist as another version of you.

I'm not sure we have a sufficient enough definition of consciousness to support that claim. Akin to the head transplant or teleporter arguments. We have a necessary definition of consciousness to create a separation between man and animal, but not a sufficient definition to identify what creates that consciousness if it's created by anything other than the necessary definition.
