Yeah I recall seeing that. We're lost without a paddle on the energy front. China is very nearly the lead energy producer in the world. At their current rate increase, I think they'll take the lead in 2027-28. That'll be the big swing of the global machine imo. Industry follows energy.

China has a prototype thorium reactor too. All the foundational research was done in the USA and got abandoned and made public, so they figured the rest out earlier this century.
