shopify is such a dinosaur, who is building a mini-app to sell merch? i also could care less about having to doxx or hold the information of a buyer just because they bought a hoodie or one of my collectibles. Zero knowledge solutions should be the way.

@slice is pretty good. Shopify maybe a dinosaur but when you want to do serious volume - it's the only tax compliant format available that's easy enough for most people to use. i don't think most onchain alternatives handle that part very well which isn't fun once you have anything more than 6 figs in sales

This is why I like the idea of starting out on a protocol like @unlock-protocol to maximize for ownership and simplicity when it's small and it really matters most. When the need for scale arises, it's a matter of plugging the protocol into a platform layer that provides out of the box compliancy solutions from a competitive market of niche service providers, instead of a bloated one-size-fits-all gateway that gets to own all the data, too.

true, i just dont like that essential functionality needs add on 3rd party services (like calculating shipping fees) also limited when trying to make it a claim site via NFTs for example. Right now its dependent on a manifold app that requires you not to stray from very basic designs. In the end subpar UX and pricey.
