Yeah it's insane how much of law is just based on precedence. Given your comment about the timing and the fact that I see this news on my timeline like once a month, I'd assume they're just ready to lose but extending it for the press.

yea or use smaller team to set precedent. they dont have shortage of money to fight

Interesting target too, they're probably going after the smaller team because they know Uncle Sam (altman) would crush them despite the "problem" being pervasive in DallE2 and earlier
