What does Farcaster look like in the near term? At some point this summer: 1. Coinbase Wallet will have a Farcaster-powered feed in their mobile app with millions of existing users. This will be the most significant increase to practical decentralization of the protocol since the beginning. 2. Our app will be called Farcaster. Easy to explain to the average person—"download Farcaster in the App Store". 3. Sign ups for most people will be free. Link your X / Twitter account and no payment required. 4. Wallet will be available on web. And thanks to auth addresses, no more "please open your phone to continue using this mini app". 5. Wallet and mini apps will expand their support to multiple chains. If there's an interesting app in crypto, the goal will be to have it play nicely with Farcaster. 6. We're going to continue scaling our weekly reward programs: iterating on casting and building mini apps, but we're also working on a new version of the invite program that rewards referrals AND retention.

I could finally swing the floor Cryptopunk if I completely cashed out everything (depending on the price of ETH). But then I have to pay taxes on gains, and I’ll have no more tokens left to trade. Not worth it.

I think there are 3 dimensions to understanding Ethereum’s struggles: regulatory, technical, and cultural. I believe the most critical to solve are the cultural issues. 1. Regulatory - Ambiguous status of ETH as commodity vs. security. With the new political landscape, this is no longer an issue, and builders should feel comfortable using Ethereum as the base layer from a legal perspective . ✅ 2. Technical - fragmentation from rollup centric roadmap; infinite state bloat, etc etc. I’m actually not too worried about this. Teams like @base have some of the smartest people in the world working on interop, scalability, and related issues. To the extent there are existential technical problems, they are actually an outgrowth of the underlying cultural ones. ➡️
