If for example it starts to push lifetime specifiers into function / fn inputs dont listen to it. 99% the time u dont need that and it will greatly complicate your code. For most use cases u dont need to pass references to functions, cloning values (aka String vs &str) is much more simple especially on a fresh POC project. You can always go back and make it more performant. But the good shit is - its still gonna be 100x performance compared to JS even without special optimizations.

Llms + rust have a tendency to hallucinate and set u back for a couple days on a design decisions that it will propose (personal experience). Llm also tends to super overcomplicate when presented with complexities of rust. 
Id highly recommend u read the rust official docs/book before trusting the llm, otherwise u will get burned by it. Rust compiler is much much more trustworthy.

I'm really coming around to Zed. Window tiling is super nice and convenient.

nice, the intellij ai assistant stuff has a lot of good things in it, I get it free with my all products pack so I've been using that every now and then

You should definitely look at opencode then! I use the /init command to give it specific instructions that are saved to an agent.md file, and from there when I set out a goal it creates a checklist first and goes through it point by point. It’s excellent!

was thinking the other day about how good it would be to do AI assisted coding that just plans out changes and keeps track of what's in every file for you to actually implement like a more fine-grained list of tasks related to an issue or higher level ticket in a project tracker

That's great. The pro plan goes a long ways

I love it. Best parts are Claude Pro OAuth so it’s not API usage based (way cheaper), and the share feature to get a web link to a conversation

it’s like doing a programming tutorial without copy pasting

Super cool to understand your own code to get the edge on where to edit later for bug.
