I give some of the new Base collections all the success there is, but the fact that some of these collections are worth significantly more than Art Blocks or fxhash collections by well-known and renowned artists is absolutely incomprehensible to me!

It’s clear to me.

- Average FC user is optimistic and naive; lacks 2021-22 exp in NFTs
- Allowlist via FC makes people feel it’s made *for* FC
- CT veterans know the narrative playbook and put on their Art Expert hats, selling ignorance
- FC happy because numba go up (then it doesn’t)

It’s just a revolving door of what comes next and who can capitalize the most with each 1.5 seconds of fame

demand will also tend to be high for the "trendy", new collections. always in search of quick money.

I took “average” FC user very broadly to include the swarms of people onboarded through Coinbase who I assume weren’t around for that era of NFTs. But indeed many/most pre-permissionless FC users were.

Agree with all except for 1, I think people are optimistic but not naive, everybody knows how last cycle ended. Ppl just think they’re earlier on the time horizon for this current cycle

Was just thinking this. It’s always surprising to see what narratives re-emerge and reminds me how, often, folks have to experience things themselves to learn.
