Would you pay for a "pro" storage unit that gave you: - longer casts (10k chars) - upto 4 images or embeds per cast - profile upgrades (link other socials, banner image etc) For creators, this would help level up their content and profiles. Assume it costs around $10/mo and revenue goes to weekly rewards.

I think longer casts are only justifiable with markdown formatting included. I don't think more embeds will help creator if the embeds we currently have are Not Great. e.g. compressed images, subpar video playback, bad aspect ratios, etc. I personally would be on board as I average about $25-50 per week in rewards, but can see why many others would hesitate. I believe the reward system is currently heavily skewed toward influential qDAU and a handful of newcomers that get a red carpet treatment with /follow-friday esque engagement. Anyone outside of that (most people) fall short and just slowly start tuning out as they feel defeated by the leaderboard.[1] Instead of succumbing to the rule of 90/9/1, I think expanding the 9% who do post and make them *feel* more like the 1% is a much more interesting direction than empowering those already at the top. You both have amassed followings (both autofollow bots and other top accounts) that put you in the top 0.01% of the network yet you're penalized because of the following size. As I understand both the feed algorithm and the leaderboard, you're much better off spinning up a new account, having a top account tag you and say "shoni made a new account follow him here" and you can cast "poopie" and I would bet that'd skyrocket you to the top 50-100 alone. The green halo is very powerful (which is good tbh) yet long established accounts with heavy social graphs kinda get set aside if they don't conform to a certain style of posting, which is unfortunate. @accountless.eth falls in this category too imo

it's definitely a lazy approach to leaderboard/popularity but i think my complaint is usually rather than wanting myself to win it's seeking rotation i.e. the same people constantly winning is proof the system is broken as an actual audience member, nothing else. and the network effects compound (a convo with pugson will usually jump me 50-100 slows which is retarded) so anyway i agree to this but i also don't care too much about the $ attached because i already made plenty its more like hey we don't think you're quality in the community unless you play by our rules (which i f*cking hate and openly resist to my own detriment at this point) the leaderboard should mostly be showcasing + rewarding new members imo cait is a great example of someone worth rewarding to retain, six/a16/keccers are all retarded examples
