Excited to announce an airdrop of Monad testnet tokens! - 77K Farcaster accounts received an airdrop based on criteria like the number of verifications, casting and engagement - Monad testnet tokens will allow you to use mini apps on Monad - You can also send it to people on Farcaster, but you might want to keep some for some of the mini apps coming soon!

Ok, I'll bite. Why is @farcaster giving a special treatment to @monad ? I have some friends working at Monad and I respect their development culture, but I'm seriously confused.

Special treatment compared to what? It's EVM so was not major lift to integrate, working on others too

No other testnet is supported via mini apps.

New developers and community brought in with Monad testnet, not necessarily any or at least doesn't move the needle with testnet on existing chains we support. That being said, it's on the roadmap already to add more testnet support

Should be more clearly indicated in the wallet imo

a few options 1. a toggle for testnet tokens on the tokens tab 2. a label on each testnet token (maybe instead of the dollar value) 3. a separator under show all i would argue a consumer wallet shouldn't have testnet support in the first place because it's confusing

Noted on 1-3 Disagree consumer wallet shouldn't have testnet support, if there are apps people are building and using e.g. Monad, MegaETH, etc then good to support. Going to be pretty common to have testnet apps to use before mainnet launch

I'd hide the testnet tokens behind a "developer" toggle. Also, the apps would show "developer mode" while transacting.

Not sure it should be called "developer" toggle and mode, consumers are using testnet tokens today on Monad, MegaETH, and other testnets that haven't launched yet (spoke with a bunch of app builders in those ecosystems with users)

i think whoever you're talking to has a very liberal definition for consumer :p i understand there is demand from certain people but if a chain is not ready to be on mainnet they should not be playing alongside those that are
