@earth2travis just posted a post by @ted into our /daos DM thread https://farcaster.xyz/ted/0x64d35946 In an effort to revive our channel I am putting it here for the purpose of discussion. My two cents: 1- Frames were more accessible for most /daos members as they did not necessarily require code after @neynar published their tools. 2- In our specific case we moved away from the channel into DM thread. Makes zero sense but happened. I wonder if we can reverse engineer that behavior. Any thoughts @trigs @thethriller @yonks @1a35e1 ?

The only way to have a thriving channel is to have active moderators surfacing content and promoting it. The only way to sustainably support active moderation is with some kind of incentive or reward. I think it's that simple. Only channels I see doing well are channels with active owners/moderators that have some intrinsic motivation to do so. So my suggestion on reverse engineering /DAOs is that we have to figure out what will motivate leaders to step up and take ownership. Because otherwise we fall back to "revealed behavior", which is currently the comfort zone of a DM group where you're guaranteed to get seen.

Good points! If I had a special badge and would get more recognition algorithmically for moderating a channel I would already be in 🥸

Do you mean boost in the home feed algo or just in the channel? I think this is a pretty good idea to have a badge!
