The first time I ever spoke about what would become Incented — before it even had a name.

I was stumbling through half-formed thoughts, trying to explain “Proof of Contribution” and staking to vote. That seed grew into what’s now our Carrot & Stick model. 🥕

It’s hard to watch now (cringe 🙃), but I make myself revisit it — as a reminder of how far we’ve come.

2+ years in, and it still feels like we’re just getting started. That’s okay. We’re in this for the long haul. We’re tackling a massive problem: reshaping how people work and get rewarded.

This won’t happen overnight. But the good news? We’ve found our calling.

When your passion and your work are one and the same, life stops being a balance act. You’re not switching hats — you’re building something that is your life.

I relate 100% while from a slightly different angle. 

With /thealanaproject it’s been nearly four years and bootstrapping isn’t easy at all. It doesn’t only cost money but also requires one to have nerves of steel, resilience and an undying passion.

While I have debated many times to accept funding (mostly VC funding was offered to me), I am happy I didn’t accept and the community truly remains in the hands of the community.

What I can appreciate though a lot are funding platforms such as /artizen to get funding injections for building more memorable products and widening social reach 💚
