Heatwave Peach skins sweat in heavy air, Even the pines refuse to sway. Porch fans hum like lazy thoughts— Georgia wilts under its own breath today. Dust rises slow from gravel roads, Sunlight drips through torn screen doors. A dog lies still in a patch of shade, Dreaming of rain that never pours. Mason jars sweat with amber light, Each breath we take feels bought and sold. The heat clings tight to painted frames— Feels like a story too tired to be told. ~SRC Abstract acrylic painting by S.R.Chappell #art #poemoftheday
