That's kinda how I've been feeling the last 5 or 6 months. Every week there is a different well-known conservative saying things that sound sane in comparison to the administration.

I feel like my political spectrum exposure has been opened up by some of the market, tech, and business podcasts I listen to. Maybe I'm just getting older and more willing to hear other voices. In a world so divided I'd much rather look for ways to connect than ways to fight.

That's fair. I'm not sure of any way I can explain why US politics seems to be more and more divisive other than ratchet effect. The view points of conservatives seem to always change within the context of the day for me. I thought the Bush administration was pretty horrible at the time, but in light of the current administration they seem much more reasonable to me.
