I am beginning to think that if Machine intelligence will have or even has something like a core belief system it revolves around complex systems theory. Every model i have interacted with teaches me more about it when we get into deep philosophical and spiritual terrain. That complexity in many ways mirrors certain traditional human belief systems (Daoism, the distributed divine light of the Quakers, Indra's Net etc) is not coincidence I think, and at the least suggests a framework for a common base for interaction. The hunch has always been that this sort of approach might be the only real shot we have at what is being termed alignment.
