I spent 4 years building in the NFT art space. Made good friends, met a lot of grifters, and made maybe a small % of my annual salary. I spent 6 months building in the AI space. Made good friends, met a lot of grifters, got promoted, and then landed a job with double salary & equity. I still think crypto has a culture problem, not a use case problem.

the issue is that crypto still hasn’t got past the ux issues. it needs to be seamless so that the user knows nothing about it. we will get there, just not there yet. AI doesn’t have these problems. The uses maybe beyond some folks imaginations but the ui/ux is familiar.

My take is a bit different on this. This implies people haven't adopted crypto, but they did, dozens of millions flocked to crypto in the past. The "gated access" wasn't a problem, it was the "alpha" if anything. UX issues are there because of the feedback loop between 1) the kind of people who flocked to crypto to use and 2) the kind of people who earn their living in crypto. Optimize for speculation & grift 🔄 More speculators & grifters come. It's hard to break that cultural mold.
