could you elaborate on “retrieve the vegetables”?

We’re part of a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)! So every Tuesday we go on a quest to retrieve that weeks vegetables. 

You get an assortment of what’s in season from local farms. This week we got carrots, radishes, leeks, shishito peppers, cabbage, corn, and garlic scapes!

How does this work? Is there a cost? Or do you all just grow different things and then mix and match? Looks way cool

We are just consumers, not farmers, but it supports 5-10 local farms, depending on the season. There is a cost and it's probably even slightly more than grocery store prices, but it goes back in to the local economy so it's worth it for us. Definitely a privilege to be a part of it.

Super cool. I live in a pretty rural area so now you have me looking into doing this in my own area lol
