I always wonder why in tech you never hear anything about God, but in sports it’s common to see athletes and coaches give glory to God. I think it’s due to a number of factors. 

Pro athletes and coaches are the cream of the crop and actually have to do hard things to keep their jobs. Also, the act of playing a sport involves surrendering control in most scenarios. Leaning on God becomes much more obvious to a coach or athlete.

Tech bros and leaders control everything down to the 1s and 0s; they control centralized databases with everyone’s personal information; they create algorithms to control us. Because of this they think of themselves as God’s.
