Cortisol (my old friend) = the body’s main stress hormone. Chronic stress keeps it elevated → fat gain, poor sleep, inflammation, gut issues. Lowering cortisol reshapes biology: 1. Inflammation drops. Less joint pain, bloating, brain fog. Body stops running in constant overdrive 2. Body comp improves. High cortisol = belly fat storage + muscle breakdown. Lower cortisol = muscle preserved (+ increased via exercise), fat released 3. Sleeeeep. Stress spikes cortisol at night. When it normalizes, melatonin + growth hormone rise = deep recovery 4. Hormones rebalance. Cortisol competes with testosterone, growth hormone, cycle health. Lower stress = better energy, yes - libido, actual recovery 5. The-ra-py. Unprocessed emotions + old wounds keep cortisol high like app background refresh! Processing them lowers repressed stress = the body responds Managing & reducing stress isn’t just “feeling calmer.” It shows up in fat, muscle, sleep, hormones, gut & heart. The body heals when it feels safe!

Adding: 6. Gut heals. Stress increases gut permeability and disrupts microbiome balance. Lower cortisol = better digestion, improved nutrient absorption, fewer food sensitivities 7. Heart health up. High cortisol raises blood pressure + resting heart rate. When it drops: circulation improves, vessels relax, cardiovascular risk lowers
