Why are you paying for Proton? 🔸Proton Calendar — No point having your calendar on the cloud. 🔸Proton Wallet — No one will ever use it because it's a huge privacy risk and lacks even the most basic of features. 🔸Proton Docs — It's a niche product, very few people will use it. 🔸Proton Mail — Email it's a flawed protocol with no privacy. The Free plan is enough. 🔸Proton Pass — There's no reason for your passwords and 2FA codes to be on the cloud (huge risk). 🔸Proton Drive — It doesn't work reliably for backups. Both their webapp and Android app have issues, if you try to upload thousands of files/folders at once, it glitches and stops uploading, some files are lost randomly. They still haven't given Linux support in all these years. 🔸Proton VPN — The Android app is solid, but they don't care about their Linux app. A lot of websites are blocking VPNs nowadays, and Proton 'Stealth' protocol doesn't work. The Free plan is enough.

Perfect is the enemy of good. It works well enough for me. I prefer a cloud based calendar to share with my partner and see other org's events. I like docs/drive 🤷‍♀️. VPN is fine enough, but yea on Linux it sucks. For passwords, I use it as a backup, bitwarden if my main manager. Wallet, ehh, never used it.

Not everybody is comfortable self hosting or relying on paper printouts of important codes/passwords.
