/hottakes AI art is NOT art and you are definitely NOT an artist or creator if thats the only way you “make art” because YOU are not creating anything. you are asking code to create a mod podge of stolen art from REAL artists

AI algorithms dont know what it is to make art, it is just taught what to steal and immitate when someone prompts it with something that matches an image in its database 

it is stolen and soulless

ai art is, and should be treated as, a different category entirely than traditional art 😭‼️ we can’t stop something that’s started like this, but at least we can try to change or shift attitudes to have more empathy for those who put in all their time into creating :’)

ok I see what you’re saying; it would be amazing if ppl would who wanna use ai for image generation would be interested in learning to make art themselves. i just had the idea that they would rather use chat gpt or something similar to prompt an image bc it’s easier

i agree!! sighs there needs to be more neutral of a space / understanding between artists and people who use ai

some folks using ai don’t understand how much it impacts those who create the art (that’s being fed into the machine!) because they’re at different points in the ai process,
and artists aren’t exactly seeing the pov or bringing those who use ai closer to the art+process so they may do things themselves either

i agree that we can’t stop it per se, and also that it’s def a diff category than traditional art. I just think if someone is putting time and effort into to using AI to create an image, it would be better spent learning an actual digital program and actually creating it from scratch
