Anyone have a RingConn smart ring? Tempted to bail on my Garmin watch with all the SaaS'ification and feature-gating drama, I don't really care about notifications, mainly want decent biometrics history. On the other hand, good GPS tracking during hikes/rides is nice.

do u use iphone and why wouldn’t watch be sufficient? I’m not a health freak, I’m just more asking in terms of a user and a new device or ecosystem . ironically, this week, someone was trying to pitch me a hardware device as an extra signer for MPC that we’re putting in at trust wallet.

i don't use an iphone, but no a smart phone does not fill my requirements: - continuous biometrics (at minimum heart rate, spo2 and body temperature is nice to have) - 7+ days of battery life, especially for multi-day activities - good reliable GPS tracing of activities (for long hikes etc) aside: i'm generally bullish of semi-disposable multi-signers (passkeys, cheapo yubikeys, etc).

oh you asked why wouldn't a smart watch be sufficient? that's what i have now (garmin smart watch), but it's getting old and i barely use any of the smart watch features... i consider notifications/alerts to be anti-features for me. ring sensors can be more reliable, since they're closer to the skin.
