One more thought on the "L2 is parasitic of L1" narrative; imagine two scenarios that achieve the same amount of transaction throughput: 1. L1 scaling with a bunch of rollups 2. L1 scaling itself without rollups Are they actually distinguishable? Would #1 make less revenue than #2? Why? In both cases, either users are overpaying for security or they're underpaying. In both cases, the security/price curve converges to some equilibrium. Only difference is that #1 can scale millions of times more than #2, a single rollup can be as scaled as any L1. So even if the unit price is the same, the sheer quantity can be astronomically higher.

Security will likely be underpaid in 1 and overpaid in 2. The equilibrium point could happen, but might take decades to be reached and in the meantime, they will be distinguishable.
