What does Ethereum, Optimism, EigenLayer, and The Regen Movement have in common? They are creating new cost functions. The world is full of legacy cost functions that we spend our lives optimizing: Networth, progeny, GDP, territory, etc. "You can just do things" What if we could create systems that optimize for securing a global computer? Funding public goods? Provable oracles? Sustainable natural systems and communities? We can just create new cost functions.
