Agents are really good at auto-generating workflows since they can give continuous feedback, ask for API keys, run and confirm tests, and if this can just happen in your Teams or Slack, could automate your whole biz ops

Yeah but I think a lot of people struggle with building Zapier workflows so they’ve outsourced to a whole class of developer

Yea there’s a lot of “middleware” software — Make, Pipedream, etc. 

I think we will see a shift away from the Zapier style middleware manual integrations (with API Keys, etc) and more towards MCP but we will see!

I think you underestimate their SEO machine they have built, plus all the relationships and developer ecosystem they have — any new company has a pretty big rock to push

The real value will come from agents that not only automate but also learn and adapt over time. 

Zapier’s static flows can't compete with dynamic, context-aware systems.

Zapier connects tools. But the future connects intelligence. The moat is in systems that improve with use, not just trigger workflows.
