So - artists kind of get put in a weird position here.
No one wants to be some kind of weird micro-tribalist pseudo-libertarian.
I came here to share and explore art - and having it be less toxic than X was at the time was nice. That’s most of what they have explicitly said they want to do with their censorship - but we all know how that works.
I’m also probably not really a tech optimist - but if you’re sincerely engaging in conversation on this protocol or making tokenized art - at the bare minimum your audience is bound to be tech optimist-leaning in some capacity.
Heavy-handed rhetoric and ai arbitrary policy enforcement is banal, none of this will grow or even sustain the platform. Infighting among remnants and pipe dreams of small more high-learning curve versions won’t help much either.
I don’t really think there’s a lot meaningful to be done either by agreeing (read: bootlicking) or fighting (read: screaming into the void). I just want to follow everyone I liked here elsewhere.
