how do y’all break out of a perpetual state of laziness and despondence, i don’t have any motivation to do anything lately apart from my regular work and it’s absolutely devastating please tell me what worked for YOU, i really don’t want any generic advice ://

it kinda comes in ebbs and flows for me i’ve found over time that less pressure tends to make more things happen — if u do enough of nothing u kinda get tired of it and the motivation happens — constantly thinking you should be doing something when you’re not is work in itself the part i’ve always struggled with is being consistent but i’m thinking that more and more it comes from doing something that has a value that is higher than fulfilling self

hmmm makes sense, so for you, loss of motivation happens when you’re trying to do too much at once?

not so much loss of motivation but stressing to hard about needing to ‘do’ something is a waste of mental brain power i’d say loss of motivation comes from doing too many things that don’t align w your values and therefore feel draining as opposed to fulfilling off a podcast i listened to the other day — there’s a thought experiment you can do which is the following: how similar would your life look if you were on a desert island and had everything in abundance — like would you be doing the same things or totally different? the closer it is to your current life, the closer you are to being aligned with your values
