It's no secret that Nouns has changed. There's ofc lots of nuance to how we got here, the good and bad. At its core, it's the underlying mechanics that drive the current dynamic. The early epoch was nounder-led, then we had a more financially oriented ethos, and now we sit at a 'governance R&D hub'. It's another changing of the guard. I don't find the current motif exciting. Many early Nouns folk feel the same, and that's ok. The game was set up to behave as it has, and I wish the current set of leaders the best. On the other hand, Nouns is CC0. Plenty of funded projects are thriving. In many ways, the DAO is now one node among several in the network, which is exactly how CC0 was meant to play out. We can continue to experiment with the noggles, the people, and the lessons learned to build new nodes. As for me, after four years of nonstop grind for the DAO, Prop House, and Rounds, I have to admit I am burnt out. I am still here. I have ongoing convos with many Nouns folk, I check camp regularly, I see the projects that are being developed, but for now I'm on the sidelines until new inspiration strikes to dive back in.

Good take. I feel similarly. Frankly, feeling uninspired by the "new leaders" and the 'mission' they've outlined... It's sad nouns legacy is changing from "keeping nouns weird" to what has become over the last 6 months. I'm worried this is how Nouns will be remembered, in the long run. Would have rather seen the auctions go much lower with a more diverse group of participants instead of a bot outbidding new folks and new voices joining the dao. Like, I get it — You can buy as many tokens as you want... but SHOULD YOU(?) if you want a healthy DAO? Seems like they don't care about that and are using Nouns like its "theirs" now, making deals with folks and other DAOs before the vote even goes up... I've delegated my votes because voting seems pointless now.. At least before when the Nounders brought props forward, your votes alone typically didn't push a prop over the line unless the community was behind it as well.

reading your words resonate with mine is genuinely inspiring and comforting. I’ve been building and actively observing the shifts within the DAO as well. Even if many of them don’t feel aligned or exciting to me personally, the code moves where the collective asks it to. It always has, and always will. that’s why I deeply appreciate the intention and care you’ve poured into the noggles over the years. I truly hope the road ahead remains tethered to those early moments, when things were built with vision, clarity, and shared soul. there’s still so much space. new ideas. New talent. and I’ll keep building here, with heart. 💙

Thank you for rounds, it's the best thing ever happens here! I genuinely thought you're the leader of nouns or something before I learn deeply about nouns because rounds introduce me to nouns.

Feel this big time. Burnt out and lacking inspiration. But with lots of love for all of it. Meanwhile busy building nounish -still hustling to try to make it a sustainable (and then thriving) business

Nouns is much bigger than its treasury and goes far beyond governance. Those who understand that have no reason to fear just another changing of the guard 😉

Thank you for sharing. Nouns (well, lil nouns) where i think the first NFT i ever bought bc @mikedemarais.eth mentioned 'em on the other app a few years ago. Nouns has been at the forefront of decentralized organizations and a great inspiration for the rest to take notes. Not everything works as expected at first time, so all the things that came after are valid sub-experiments imho. I
