Every single miniapp prompting to "Add to Warpcast" before even using it is really really annoying.

my first mini app i put it all the way at the end *bc principles* but w the new atlas app it's right upfront bc it's just so much easier to get it out of the way

If the first thing your mini app does is prompt me to save it before I even get to see what it does, I'm gone.

I refuse to succumb to the dark pattern popularized by publication websites that prompt you to fork over your email when you haven't even finished the article.

yeah, we disagree, i don't think the email analogy applies here

and that's fine, i still think you're cool!

It is super cool to guilt devs in this case because:

1) this is a well known growth hack used to pump subscription numbers on publication sites. (you're really telling me you'd want to normalize pressing a button to subscribe with your email *before* even reading what you're subbing for?? on the premise that it's "easy" to just unsubscribe after the fact? if so stop reading further and I'll indeed agree to disagree)

2) most users (and unsurprisingly devs!) don't know how to articulate this problem and thus become complicit to it, and then have no idea why they end up getting bombarded with useless notifications that they end up glossing over because they weren't told how to unsubscribe (or can't be bothered, which is why it's uncommon to see email inboxes with unread counts in the thousands). This is me advocating for better experience for the ecosystem which arguably benefits everyone.

3) it's not even a big ask!! Just move one line of code to another place in the codebase.

giving users a clear and simple choice to be notified that they can easily dismiss / opt out of in the future is totally fine 

maybe it's not super cool to try and make devs feel guilty for offering users that choice
