Good question… we split our view of the risk in two categories: 1) How likely is it that there is a fire at this particular lat/long? 2) If there is a fire there, how likely that the home survives? We have expertise in both questions, although most of our emphasis so far has been on #1. Lots of #2 related stuff on the roadmap. But yes, what your neighbors do (ie: clearing brush) totally matters

Very cool! Does the model account for any specific neighborhood design elements, or even at the individual house level, that might make a house less risky?

I guess I’m not sure if those kind of defensible design elements have as much impact as the surrounding vegetation.
