We gather here today to lay to rest the Farcaster Trending Feed; beloved by few, gamed by many, ignored by the rest (the 95% of you who never checked it). Born with noble intentions, the feed aspired to surface the best of Farcaster. Instead, it spent its final days as a popularity contest judged by a select group of accounts with oversized influence and ̶i̶m̶p̶e̶c̶c̶a̶b̶l̶e̶ questionable taste in inside jokes. Some posts trended because they were genuinely good. Others… because they were liked by the right four people in a row. To its credit, the Trending Feed never asked to be worshipped. It didn’t scream “LOOK AT ME.” It just sat there quietly, hidden on mobile where most people never saw it. It was buggy. It was exploitable. It was sometimes funny. And occasionally, it even got it right. Farewell, Trending. You tried your best. You will not be missed.
